Thursday, May 5, was the Kindergarten Share Fair at Shepard Boulevard Elementary School. Kindergartners and their families toured the different activity centers in the auditorium and the cafeteria.

For the past three weeks, kindergartners have been doing a science unit called “the sky above us,” kindergarten teacher Debi Kupferer said. The goal was to make the students understand why they see what they see in both the day and the night skies. They were taught that the moon circles the Earth and that the Earth circles the sun, Kupferer said.

The activity centers at the Share Fair were:

  • Oreo Moon Phases
  • Space Candy Estimation
  • Favorite Planet Graph
  • Read Upon a Star
  • Picture This
  • Rings of Saturn
  • Space Race
  • Moon Bounce
  • Comet Toss
