Boone Hospital Center’s new patient tower is scheduled to open with a ceremony June 26.

Construction is going according to schedule, said hospital spokesman Jacob Luecke. This is the hospital’s largest expansion project to date — it will house 128 single-patient rooms when complete.

“This is a very exciting time at Boone Hospital Center, and we are excited to show off our progress for our neighbors and community during our grand opening celebration on June 26,” Luecke said.

It will be one of the first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-certified hospitals in Missouri.

“It will have green features such as solar-powered water heaters, repurposed and recycled materials, and a rainwater-fed irrigation system,” Luecke said.

William Street, which runs through the hospital, reopened to the public at the beginning of the year. The road now includes plants, an ornamented roundabout and wider sidewalks.
