A talent show at Parkade Elementary postponed last week by winter weather has been rescheduled to be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 3.

Students auditioned for the show in front of a panel of judges and an audience of their peers and were selected based on how well prepared they were and their audience appeal.

The talent show has acts from many areas. “We’ve had cheerleading, magic acts, gymnastic acts,” music teacher Stacy Pendergrass said. “I wanted to give the kids an opportunity to showcase their different talents. This is their time to show what they’re individually interested in.”

The routines had to be appropriate for a school audience, but other than that there weren’t many restrictions.

“You’ll see acts of all different levels and all shapes and sizes,” Pendergrass said. “It’s fun to see what they come up with.”

The students performed once at 2:30 p.m. at an assembly in front of the entire student body  on Thursday, Feb. 24.
