Windsor Street Montessori School, 1616 Windsor St., will host an open house from 10 a.m. to noon March 12 to introduce prospective parents to the school as well as its unique teaching style.
Promoting diversity is a primary focus of the Montessori method. Lessons are integrated in international and multicultural topics with the goal of instilling respect for others and the world.
Windsor Street Montessori School is intended to be a place where students take an active role in their education.
“They are able to be self directive,” school director Mary Windmiller said. “They can seek out what they want to learn and, therefore, learn more because they are active participants.”
