Surveys about the services of the Daniel Boone Regional Library have been mailed out and should be arriving in homes within the next few days.
Mitzi St. John, public relations manager for the Daniel Boone Regional Library, said more than 3,000 surveys were sent to randomly selected residents of Boone and Callaway counties. The library hopes to get back 1,200 surveys from both current patrons and nonusers.
The survey will include questions asking what patrons like about the library’s services, how they prefer to find out about programs and services and how often they use library services, including the website and bookmobiles, St. John said. There will also be questions about e-readers, e-books and social media.
“We are wanting to use the results of this survey as a basis on which we can form our long-range plan,” St. John said.
There was no age restriction given for survey respondents, St. John said. They’re hoping for a broad cross-section of respondents from young adults and up.
“We’re interested in everyone’s comments,” she said.
Completed survey responses can be mailed to ETC Institute, 725 W. Frontier Circle, Olathe, KS, 66061. The survey company will begin making calls on Feb. 7 to residents who have not returned their surveys by that time, asking whether they have mailed back their surveys and giving them the option to complete the survey by phone.
