Two Mile Prairie’s fourth- and fifth-grade choir performed at the school’s Holiday Dessert Fest Thursday night, Dec. 9.

The choir, led by music teacher Leah Rickerd, didn’t just sing Christmas songs; they also sang about Kwanzaa and Hanukkah.

“Our favorite song to sing was ‘The Best Gift of All,’ said fourth-graders Serena Williams, Adi Greening and Katherine Curry.

The choir practiced for about five weeks.

“We practiced every Monday after school,” Serena said.

Besides music, parents and students enjoyed hot chocolate and desserts, both homemade and store-bought. Four classrooms were set up for ornament making.
