Derby Ridge Elementary School students and parents browsed the shelves of the Barnes & Noble children’s section, eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Grinch and a special reading of the book “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” by assistant principal Kelsey Morris.
This was the school’s second year holding a book fair at Barnes & Noble, Morris said.
“We had a great turnout last year and decided to do it again,” he said.
The school received a percentage of the sales from the event Friday night, Dec. 10.
“It not only benefits the school by giving us money, but it allows us to interact as a school community in a way we don’t normally get to,” Morris said.
Students were able to enter their names in a drawing and win prizes associated with the book.
