A moon map, star chart and a sense of discovery are what the Columbia Public Library hopes people will gain from an opportunity to gaze at the stars this weekend.

The event is scheduled for 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Gene Martin Secret Garden at the west end of the main library parking lot. It will be hosted by Val Germann and sponsored in part by the Central Missouri Astronomical Association.

If weather isn’t permitting for actually looking at the stars, the program will still be held inside for those who want to learn about stargazing.

The program is free for all ages. For more information call (573) 443-3161.
