Fire station gets LEED certification


A fire station in the Green Meadows neighborhood was recently recognized for its energy and resource efficiency. It was constructed from recycled materials and has ground-source heat pumps to heat and cool the building. There is a a basin for cleaning runoff from stormwater, according to a news release.

Fire Station No. 7 was completed in 2009 and is the second fire station in the area to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification.
