Festival attendees reported some inconveniences at the annual Root ‘N’ Blues ‘N’ BBQ Festival, but said they were still enjoying their day.
Sharla Hiler was outside Flat Branch Park, listening to the free music. She thought the street vendors were “kinda over-priced,” and that they “didn’t have good food for the money”.
But, she said, these were vendors, and not entrants in the barbecue competition.
Her favorite part of the festival was the part of it that was free.
“Lots of my friends wouldn’t have been able to come if you had to buy a ticket,” she said.
The bathrooms, however, left something to be desired, Hiller said. She described the port-a-potty situation as “not ideal,” and their placement as “problematic.”
Nevertheless, Hiler said she will definitely be coming next year.
