A youth horseback-riding program offered at Granny’s House in the Douglass Park area will hold a fundraiser at Cross Wind Ranch in Millersburg on Saturday, Sept. 18.

The Spirit Riders program offers children ages 9 to 13 the opportunity to learn basic to advanced horseback-riding skills and other responsibilities for tending to a horse. Each six-week session also focuses on a different aspect of personal development.

“We provide for kids who wouldn’t normally be able to have a relationship with a horse,” said director Sue Crane.

The Spirit Riders will perform on Saturday at 3 p.m. A hog roast and silent auction will take place immediately after the performance.

The event will raise money for the Spirit Riders and help fund a trip to Tennesse in October.

Cross Wind Ranch is located on County Road 237 in Millersburg. For more information or directions contact Sue Crane at (573) 310-1372.
