Last outdoor movie of the year

The outdoor movie series held at Flat Branch Park will be coming to a close Friday, Sept. 10, with the showing of the children’s movie “Cars.”

The program, sponsored by Columbia’s Parks and Recreation Department, US Cellular and KPLA 101.5, has been held every second Friday of the month since May.

“It’s an affordable community event to bring back the drive-in feel,” said Recreation Specialist Erin Carrillo.

The movie will start at 7:45 p.m. and viewers are encouraged to bring blankets or low lawn chairs for seating.

The cost is $1 and children 12 and under are free, with optional concessions available.
