Columbia Public Schools will host a discussion on a proposed parking lot addition at Jefferson Junior High School, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 30 in the school’s media center, 713 Rogers St.
The proposed addition would add 13 parking spots along Hickman Avenue in the hope of loosening up traffic and making it safer for parents to pick up students, said Michelle Baumstark, community relations coordinator for the district.
The proposed addition has raised some concerns among residents in the area about road flooding. Click here for a previous Missourian article detailing the issue.
Anyone with questions or concerns about the project is invited to attend the meeting to review and discuss the plans, Baumstark said.
