Attention, Old Southwest: We’re here

Two new reporters have arrived in CoMo, and they’re on your beat. Phoebe Zhang and Sarah Tucker, two MU journalism graduate students, are just itching to start writing about the historic Old Southwest neighborhood.

Phoebe Zhang is a convergence-track graduate student from Nanjing, China. She graduated from Iowa’s Grinnell College in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. Her dream, besides working as a world-renowned journalist, is to travel the globe and eat all the exotic food she can. She’s visited Budapest and Venice and was kicked out of Croatia once (but that’s another story).

Sarah Tucker (that’s me) is a magazine-track graduate student from Sugar Land, Texas. I graduated from the University of Houston in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in anthropology. I love traveling and hope to one day work for National Geographic. I haven’t been to many places yet, but I get the feeling that will change soon. I also love, LOVE to read, so if you have a book you can’t put down, tell me about it.

Feel free to contact either of us with comments or suggestions via email. Phoebe can be reached at, and Sarah Tucker can be reached at

We look forward to meeting you and exploring the Old Southwest.
