Creole dinner raises money to support Haiti relief efforts


Sterling Food Service Management and the Mid-Missouri Chapter of American Red Cross joined forces to host a charity dinner that raised funds for relief efforts in Haiti.

Community United Methodist Church hosted the dinner, which featured Creole dishes such as jerk chicken and griot pork, on Tuesday, Feb. 2. Megan Dercher, Sterling’s catering director, said she hopes to make the charity dinner a regular event.

“After CNN and everyone stops talking about it, they’re still going to need a ton of help,” she said of survivors in Haiti.
